Ella Mai

Ella Mai is a 23 year old from England, and has been recently killing it on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Before Ella gained her fame she was a contestant on season 11 of "The X Factor" in a group titled "Arize", although the group broke up shortly after Ella had gained success off her EP's on Soundcloud. Following her success on Soundcloud, she was discovered by "DJ Mustard" from her Instagram cover videos. (photos from @ellamai on instagram)

Time.Change.Ready

Ella has three EP's released titled, "Time","Change" and "Ready". These projects gained great success with her songs, "Boo'd Up", "She Don't" and "10,000 Hours". With the popularity and success Ella was gaining, in early 2017 she got to open for Kehlani on her "SweetSexySavage" tour. She got to perform at 30+ shows, and travel the country for the first time in front of big crowds.

Personally, I attended the "SweetSexySavage" Tour and was very excited to see Ella and as I expected, she was very great live and had a great performance.

Boo'd Up the Tour

On August 20th, 2018 Ella Mai performed at the Lincoln Hall in Chicago, Il. She performed many of her popular songs including "Boo'd Up", "Anymore" and "10,000 Hours". Ella also got to perform her new singles "Trip" and "Naked". As mentioned before, Ella had a great stage presence and live vocals. You can tell Ella really has a great time on stage and does not seem nervous while performing.

During the show after Ella sand "Boo'd Up", she invited four fans on stage and let them sing along with her. I found this very fun and humourus to hear fans sing and dance with Ella. It was cool to see an artist have fun and interact with her fans. Overall rating 9/10

-side note-

The venue Ella performed at, Lincoln Hall, is a great venue, has a very great staff, and is a clean and an organized space, so I would really recommend seeing a show here!

Meet and Greet

After meeting Ella after her show on the "SweetSexySavage" tour, I was very excited to get the chance to meet her again. The meet and greet tickets for her show cost $65 and included a GA ticket, meet and greet ticket, an exclusive T-shirt, a lanyard, and a signed poster. The meet and greet was very organized and put together. Although, one thing I did not like was that she didn't have a set backdrop for the photo, which made it feel less "official". I also felt her manager was very rude and seemed like he didn't want to be there. I do understand that he was doing his job and trying to make the area as safe as possible for Ella, but he could have at least smiled once.

At the meet and greet I brought my "House Of Solo" magazine with Ella Mai on the cover and had Ella sign it. A fan writes, "I thought it went smoothly and Ella Mai was so sweet and surprisingly very tall lol. She had a great energy to her."

Overall the meet and greet was great, and Ella is always so polite and fun to have a conversation with! (8/10).
